CASA DE LA SALSA
will hold an audition / class
for the team in January 2009
for 2 leaders and 2 followers.
if you are interested in taking the class and finding out the dates for the audition.
It will be 2 consecutives weeks learning a BRIEF choreography of shines and patterns (no more than one minute). At the end of 2 weeks, Almyra will invite the selected dancers to become part of the team.
NOTE:
- THIS IS NOT A STUDENT TEAM. The class will provide some instruction, but you have to be able to pick up, retain and execute the choreography with music, styling and formations after 2 weeks.
- This audition/class is free of charge, but PLEASE contact me ONLY if you are really interested in becoming part of a team and performing upon request. CASA will perform locally, at least 4 times per year at local venues and at the CASA social, so the performance commitment is relatively light - however, we are seeking motivated, committed, congenial,and mature dancers and team players.
- Experience is needed - not necessarily performing experience - but at least 2 years of social dancing and instruction on2.
- Monthly dues are involved, covering studio space.
- You may sometimes be asked to pay for your own costumes, though primarily CASA purchases costumes that are the property of CASA. You must have/purchase shoes and accessories that match any given costume for a performance.
- If asked to join, you must be generally available Mondays and/or Wednesdays, from 8-10pm to rehearse weekly.
- If asked to join, you will also be expected to continue social dancing and/or be part of a class system in order to keep your skills fluent and evolving.
